We are seeking an experienced reviewer to evaluate the connection detail between a concrete tunnel and a steel penstock pipe for a hydropower/water conveyance project. The penstock pipe will be surrounded by concrete and can therefore be considered practically fixed. The primary objective of the review is to ensure long-term water tightness and proper structural/interface arrangement between the concrete tunnel lining and steel penstock system. The reviewer is expected to assess the proposed arrangement shown in the drawings provided and provide practical recommendations based on previous design or site experience. Innovative or improved solutions based on prior projects are highly encouraged. Applicants must have direct experience in at least one similar tunnel–penstock connection either as a designer, site engineer, or reviewer. The tunnel diameter is approximately 5–6 m. The assignment duration is 4 days from the date of work assignment. Required expertise includes Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Drawings and relevant details will be provided to the selected reviewer. Online discussions/meetings will be conducted between the designer and reviewer during the review process. Payment modality will be discussed and finalized prior to commencement of the work. This review is just for single connection.

I have reviewed the project description regarding the tunnel–penstock interface connection review for the hydropower/water conveyance system. I have previous experience in steel liner/penstock connection arrangements with concrete structures, including evaluation of embedded steel sections, water tightness provisions, interface detailing, and constructability considerations for underground hydraulic structures. For this assignment, I can review the proposed drawings and assess: • Structural compatibility between tunnel lining and steel penstock • Water tightness and leakage prevention measures • Transition detailing near the interface • Water stops, grout / concrete arrangements • Potential risks due to differential movement, shrinkage, temperature effects, or vibration I am comfortable participating in online technical discussions with the design team and can complete the review within the required 4-day duration after receiving the drawings and design information. Please share the available drawings, design assumptions, loading conditions, and any previous calculations for detailed review.
